An Indian Pesh Kabz dagger of elegant form.

The substantial hilt comprises of a two piece elephant ivory grip section with the grip strap decorated with gold Koftgari in floral design.

The highly attractive blade has a pronounced ’T’ section and displays crisp clean lines with a chiselled centre panel, a thick central rib and a swollen tip completes the blade. The watered steel blade is of dark Wootz steel with an active watered pattern of high contrast.

This dagger was recently on display at the New Westminster Museum (BC, Canada) as part of the Royal Ontario Museums travelling exhibition ‘Ornamenting the Ordinary: The Crafts of South Asia’.
