An Indian Khanjar from the mid 19th century.
The recurved polished steel blade is double-edged with a thick raised central rib terminating with a thickened point. The hilt is formed with a parrot head pommel set with turquoise eyes (one lacking) and is decorated with a repeat diaper pattern of floral motifs in gold and silver Koftgari design traditionally known as ganga jamuna.
Retains the original velvet over wood scabbard complete with chape.
